Corks Popcorn

Statesboro, Georgia

Kettle corn · family run since 2004

In 2004, a brand-new farmers market opened in Statesboro, Georgia, and the Cork family signed up together, not so much to sell popcorn as to build something as a family. Popcorn was the product because Mom was the biggest popcorn fan they knew. They showed up every weekend and got a little better at it each time.

One market became many. For years the family worked the farmers and vendor markets across the region, until the first retail clients found them. Then came a commercial kitchen, more shelves, gift boxes, and business gifts. Every batch is still popped to order, in more than ten handcrafted flavors.

By 2021 they had outgrown the house, so they moved into 1547 Morgan Wy: a retail store out front, and in back the kitchen that makes every bag: wholesale, white-label, and gift-box orders, plus the ones you can walk in and buy fresh, made that day. Twenty years on it is still family run, still popping for local groups, events, and giveaways around Statesboro.

“Popcorn was only ever the medium. The real work was building something good, together.”
